After that I moved onto the main sections and surprisingly to me I didn’t have to cut anything to fit as there are a good amount of options that are pre-cut, I included the pictures of the final and I was happy with how I laid out the foam, I still have some left over and when I first installed it I didn’t use the contact glue as there was an adhesive on the backside of the foams, so far again using this almost daily for three weeks I have had no problems, the foams are super comfortable and you can customize it just how you want it to be on your head, as I did stack some of the thinner pieces in a couple different spots on the helmet (forehead and temples)
Lastly, the pro model Bauer 960 ($850) will feature fiberglass construction with a full layer of aramid fiber throughout the shell. The Bauer 940, priced at $350 will feature full fiberglass construction and moving up to the 950 at $550, aramid fiber reinforcements will be added to the high impact areas of the forehead and chin. I can only imagine that this should perform even better after this change. So currently I have been using the eco pro foam in my Bauer 960xpm for roughly 3 weeks now, I thought i would post to give a basic run down of how I replaced it.

Bauer has also updated the foams in the 960XPM in key areas to newer impact-absorbing XRD foam and soft VN foams to better manage impacts.
I recently replaced my mask with an OTNY with the ECOproFOAM padding and it has been excellent.
This is further supplemented by INNEGRA fiber reinforcement in the forehead and chin.
The padding in the Bauer 961XPM is mechanically attached so it can be easily removed or replaced. JavaScript is disabled.
Protect what matters most. A 37.5 sweatband provides excellent moisture management inside the helmet, enabling enhanced comfort and improved performance (plus Bauer even included a spare).
The chin cup on the 960 also has poron foam. I have had a couple helmet shots prior to this update, and even with the original foam, I felt very little of the impact.
The liner is mechanically attached and features XRD® foam in impact zones, super soft VN foams for added comfort, XRD® foam in chin cup, and 37.5™ technology in the sweatband.

All rights reserved. From what understand the expiration date on a goalie mask is for the foams and glue holding the foams in correct? The first time I used it, the other team must have known it was a new mask because I took 6 or 7 shots off it during the game.
I thought the rule was every three years or so (according to my LHS repair person).
I had similar issue fitting the backplate piece to my helmet, the configuration of straps was just a little different, not as much as the O.P had to deal with.
A carbon edge wrap will help to reduce chipping, and a padded helmet bag will help prevent any unwanted damage during travel.

My previous Bauer masks have been an NME 9, Profile 960 and now a 960XPM.
It's very plush - although it feels heavier than most when you pick it up off the shelf, once it's on your head it doesn't even feel like you're wearing anything.
But as of now, I would also not hesitate to recommend that foam kit if someone is interested in updating their own mask also. I don’t know what that different colour foam is Bauer uses on the backplate but that crap never dries out for me.
