Actors well chosen, music nicely arranged, a film where we see people as people. Copyright © Fandango. Gunless is certainly eager to please. As with other projects involving Paul Gross (Men with Brooms), this is a spoof that's not always laugh-out-loud funny, but one that's quirky and still strangely compelling. Very entertaining. So what is "Gunless"? I've never heard of a Canadian western. What's interesting is the set up, in which gunslinger Montana Kid (Gross) arrives in Barclay's Brush somewhere in Canada quite under duress. By opting to have your ticket verified for this movie, you are allowing us to check the email address associated with your Rotten Tomatoes account against an email address associated with a Fandango ticket purchase for the same movie.Fandango As light as the movie is, it is not as broad as I thought it might be, thankfully not shying away from the darker story aspects, revealing many a hidden truth in general. Sorry to disappoint those who think comedy has to revolve around sexual innuendo, nudity, and raw humor, because refreshingly, Gunless doesn't go there. While disapproving of his general behavior, Jane Taylor(Sienna Guillory) still offers Montana a place to stay in exchange for fixing her windmill. The comedy in this film is cute, and the action is not bad considering how many cast members are in this film. Majestic scenery, witty dialoge, colorful characters, chemistry between the main characters, pleasing sound track, and a quirky story line. This was a pleasure to see them work together in a movie made for the enjoyment of everyone. 1 out of 1 found this helpful. Obviously I enjoy westerns, and most of the recent movies guised as westerns have not made the grade. It reminded us of the old movie "Support Your Local Sheriff". The image is an example of a ticket confirmation email that AMC sent you when you purchased your ticket. The characters do not become "caricatures", but instead likable, mostly realistic people that could be related to anyone of us. In "Gunless," the Montana Kid(Paul Gross) has felt better than when he arrives in the sleepy town of Barclay's Brush, Canada, slumped over his horse which is also dragging a large tree branch behind it. 27 out of 54 found this helpful. April 30, 2010 Cinemark The idea of a gunless/boozeless Canadian wild west town is sort of unique, and 'Gunless' made the most of it. That is, except for blacksmith Jack (Tyler Mane), who gets on Montana's wrong side by 'stealing' his horse. Promoted as a comedy, Gunless is your basic 'fish out of water tale'. Gross is a fish out of water American in a gunless Canadian city. It felt just so good to be watching this pleasant non-political, no-gore, light-hearted comedy. I would insist that this film be re-made by a major studio to improve the production values but they would spoil it. It fits a PG-13 rating due to brief language.
