A green and pink alligator take bows at the boat, and there is a group of lily pads with frogs singing. This Six Flags park opened in 1971 and this was one of the rides at the park. I believe that Injun Joe's Cave, Time Tunnel and The Legends Of The Dark Castle versions of the ride were all designed and built in house by Six Flags Over Mid-America employees, I don't know what company designed the Castaway Kids version. I'm a native St. Louisan myself.
From 1971, it barely resembles today's thrill-ride-choked park. After an investment of over $50 million, the park opened in 1971. I've never been to Six Flags St. Louis, but I know the dark ride has changed themes a few times. However one vendor who usually has some photos and other paper ephemera was there. Yes. Wow...very cool. Six Flags in my hometown. The Time Tunnel was pretty neat but it couldn't hold a candle to The Cave.
