I live in Arizona where the outside temperature is around 105. The compressor in the portable A/C remained on all the time and that portable unit could not bring the 12' x 12' room below 84 degrees.

That was an unanticipated and unwelcome change. They do give you a pdf manual to download and a contact number. Maybe 700 feet. I'm afraid I'm out all that money and my marriage is truly being tested right now. This air conditioner is large and should not be compared to a typical window A/C.
A lot quieter than the Frigidaire we had before, which also broke after just a few years. It showed up with broken fins, missing screws, and broken side pieces. I would likely have chosen another unit had I known the size difference when I bought this. I read the reviews, but unfortunately I did not take some of the harsher ones serious. It's working nice. It works fine but tomorrow is 87 degrees expected. I hope it lasts.
LG has ignored me as well. This unit is a little larger than the last unit I had with the same BTU rating, and this causes the unit to be substantially more difficult to install/remove than my last AC unit was.
This window A/C unit quickly brought the room down to 72 degrees and the compressor only came on once in a while. Good Solid A/C, used it to replace a ridiculously loud Frigidaire that I paid much too much for.

Perhaps this is the normal size for an AC unit rated like this, I'm not sure, but my last one was smaller.
