After a husband is accused of driving his third wife to suicide, his first wife Hedda, a troubled woman who can't hate or hurt others even if they had wronged her, is subpoenaed to testify on his abusive behavior during their marriage. Sir John Gielgud more or less plays himself with equal aplomb as a dignified gentlemen and as a corpse.
They form an unhealthy relationship that expresses itself through violent outbursts, and copious sex scenes that range from genuinely sexy to mechanically frantic. American judge in Germany must decide if the hijacking of an East German plane into West Berlin was justified. Dustin is on a search for love, sex, and inspiration. Much of it plays like the most brilliant sketches from early "SNL" or from a John Waters movie. Here’s a Dove list of previous summer blockbusters. Against the anxieties and fears of post-9/11 America, an Arab cab driver picks up a troubled professional woman with unexpected results. If you ever get a chance, see this movie. His earnest objectification of actors' bodies is, in that sense, often compelling.

But they're not just endurance tests, or frustrating slogs either.
