But I couldn't even finish. I still found the funny parts funny, but probably not as funny as the first time. One of those massive, epic-style novels that we used to see so much of in the 1970s and 1980s. I had the usual presumption that the book I can't believe I'm saying this but the movie is better. Although this was set in New Mexico, it reminded me so much of the Colorado Rockeies where our family vacationed most of my life.I enjoyed the sense of humor and the quirky, unforgettable characters.
