I do plan on upgrading to an ohio power bar soon though.
Esp if you hook grip or suicide grip. I am a power lifter and i know that isn't what this bar is designed for but I was on a budget.
Paired this bar with a set of Echo plates and I was able to get a great home setup for not a lot of cash. That’s big.
Anything you buy from Rogue is better than anything at a globo gym for that matter. the Ohio Bar is a more passive or smooth knurling.
It regularly has well over 500 pounds on it. This bar is great for home use with good spin.
I am also starting to just get plain better fundamentally at the various movements because I practice so frequently now.
I actually prefer this to the Ohio, since I'm not a fan of the black finish. I have both the Ohio and now Echo bar, so o have something to compare to. I have dropped it from overhead and it doesn't flinch. Rogue equipment and shipping is so much more expensive in Canada . I have to say it has been good to me. But for a few $$ more, I'd spring for the Ohio Bar or equivalent.
This is over 1,000 lbs of gear – shipping for only $5. Other than the fact that it has a black zinc bar and raw sleeves I cannot find a single imperfection. I plan on getting a set of Kettlebells and a wall ball soon as well. Got a deadlift bar for 150 last weekend. If you are, then buy something else because the sleeves don't rotate very well. One thing I noticed is that closeout bars are $21 for shipping whereas boneyard bars are $15 for shipping, why is that? The knurling is out of this world compared to those bars. Most of the time I gauge the position of my hands from where the knurling starts anyway.
