I don't want to completely blame it on M'lore kannada but subtitles should have been there for better & perfect understanding!
The movie had already created the hype required. I'm not sure if it was the fault of Eshwari theater or the effect of sync sound system but we were not able to hear 60-70% of the dialogues!
Back ground music takes us to other world cinematography also makes movie fresh look, malpe and sea is shown excellently. There is so much talent in the Kannada film industry now. Audiences are aware that this is not the usual Kannada film, but are looking forward to it.There are a lot of good films coming out from the Kannada film industry - an industry that is considered to be small - and audiences are lapping them up.Newcomers should be allowed and encouraged. BG score has a strong impact on few characters and it's incredible.
Unlike prominent Kannada Cinema "Ulidavaru Kandante" gives more prominence to the characters.
Most people would have wanted to consolidate their position as an actor after a big hit but you didn’t do that… Content & technicality wise, Movie is brilliant but because of Kundapura/Mangalore kannada, I was not able to understand 70-80% of the dialogues! It's a really good thing that Rakshit is influenced by such great directors. This movie had all ingredients to be one of the best movie in recent times Just felt like it was done in a hurry towards end to finish the movie..

Using TuLu words in few dialogues and songs is a really good thing since it exposes the regional aura to the rest of Karnataka. Specially, few people(kannadigas in my friends list) who'll watch all other language movies in theaters except Kannada movies which they'll download from the internet after the digital print is released. Not only because it is a terrific script, but also because it was an excellent team.Most of us being Mangaloreans, we ended up talking in Tulu.
Chapter 4: Rakshit is all over the movie and his character is really diabolical(li'l harsh but yes he is). It starts when you start thinking WHO NARRATED WHICH PART OF THE STORY .
Chapter 3: Songs and Background score by Ajaneesh Loknath is amazing!
This crime comedy thriller depends on how you see and understand the movie. Chapter 2: Film connects by intersecting story lines(perspectives) of different characters. In the film however, we talk the Udupi or Kundapur dialect of Kannada.Also, in my humble opinion, nobody has shot coastal Karnataka and its surrounding beauty like Karm Chawla, the cinematographer, has in this film.

Ulidavaru Kandante wins hearts of London cinephiles Sandalwood star Rakshit Shetty's debut directorial project Ulidavaru Kandante was recently screened at the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF). Hogi picture nodi helu.
Ulidavaru kandante is very good effort from the Kannada film industry.
I have to admit, at the end of the movie, I sat there on my seat, unwilling to walk out, wanting for more, before the fading lights reluctantly forced me to leave the theatre. #UlidavaruKandante Get your lazy arse up and watch the movie in the theater when its still running! He has done a fabulous job.Rakshit has depicted the coastal culture so well.
The movie doesn't exactly finish at the end. The trailer was a huge hit & with Rakshit Sir interacting with us in FB n twitter, I was able to understand his view/passion/commitment towards direction so I was waiting like a mad dog for this movie! 0 out of 0 found this helpful At the beginning, I thought oh it's gonna be good. The sea, the riverside, greenery and the folk arts all produce a mesmerizing effect. Some of the newspapers found the movie to be stretched , meandering and a waste of time.
However, the story was a bit weak. The screenplay was adapted from Pulp fiction and moulded to make the general audience understand. It's always difficult to direct a movie with non-linear storyline and intertwined plots.

I gave good eating because such movies should be encouraged but I doubt if it would reach all audience..
